There are mixed opinions on it. I personally haven't had one. And there are accounts of blizzards being docile and calm. But a lot of them are supposedly aggressive. No one knows why if it is true. Give me a minute to find the thread :D

I have 5 blizzards, and all of them are just as tame as the rest of my leopard geckos. Years ago, they were quite skiddish and cranky... but I believe that was due to inbreeding them so much when they were first introduced.

Our male was very standoffish when he was younger but he has improved alot over the past few months. I think it just took him a bit longer to calm down but now that he has he is as easy to handle as any of our others.

My breeders are as calm as can be, but there babies... better count your fingers after being in their tubs. Also the only time I remember being bit by a gecko was a blizzard.

I had 3 blizzards and one het, and they were all nuts! The one guy wasn't too bad, but the rest were about as freaky a leo as I've ever met. One of them would pull a Dr. Jeckel - Mr. Hyde on me all the time. One day he'd be nice a sweet, and the next he'd be screaming bloody murder and trying to shred anything that got close. So, for me I'd have to say Blizzards can be quite cranky!! None of mine were "normal".

They are just spooked easier in my opinion. With gentel handling and a calm voice, they will eventually calm down enough to handle, all though they may still be a bit jumpy when you go to pick them up.

Ok so true story.

Last night I was feeding the leos and I got to a section of leos that were crossed with blizzards (a project I'm working on) so I'm on the phone not paying any attention when I go to dump another handful of crickets in the bin. As I let go of the crickets out leaps a gecko and attaches it self to my palm. I nearly went nuts. Not because it hurt or anything but the sight of seeing a gecko jump six inches up and locking on to my hand was insane. It's not the first time one of these females with blizzard genes has jumped up out of the bin and tried to attack me, just the first time one was successful. The blizzard mother got me last week. I'm beginning to think there is something to this blizzards being feisty thing.

I have a blizzard male and he is very aggressive!! He is the only one that has ever bit me and it hurt!:) I don't think that he had been handled much at all before I got him. He has seemed to calm down some but I still don't like to put my hand in there.:)

i have 2 very young female BB's one is totally calm and i can pick her up and everything the other is very cautious of me and if i spook her she stands as hig as she can and hisses and tries to bite and i will close the bin and she will still hiss for like 5 more minutes, hopefully she will grow out of it.

I only have a couple hundred leopard geckos, but in my experience, blizzards have a propensity for attitude...I can only speak from my experience--Out of those 200+ geckos, I have 14 blizzards/blazing blizzards/SSblizzards, and they are all more high-strung than your average leopard gecko...although the majority of the rest of my geckos are Trempers, from Raptor/giant lines. Also, the few blizzards I've hatched were all screamers right out of the egg--even when incubated at 80F
