Rainwater actually has been known as the WORSE strain for holding color. That's why very few work with them.

Interesting, I did not realize that was the common opinion. I have a two year old RRS from Albey that never changed a bit during breeding. My Tremper and Bell stuff faded and dulled noticeably. I think the Rainwater stuff shows yellows better from what I've seen, maybe not as orange, but I have nowhere near the first hand experience to pretend to be authoritative.

Keith - Well you don't have a normal RW. RRS and FW were line bred to get to the point they are now. You typical RW tends to have nice color until 50+g and then they fade relatively fast. I would agree that Tremper and Bell both will fade more than a quality RW...but everyone will argue to use the best pf the other two strains. I personally think a good line of RW will actually be brighter and matain better color and stripes than any other line. I have some stripes after 2 seasons of breeding that are better than juvi stripes of the other lines.

Thanks Russell. We have some of our geckos on wiki...its run a bit different now.
