Ya just get a nice proportional thermostat and place the probe in the incubator and plug the incubator into the thermostat it will work fine that way

I use a Zoo Med 500R thermostat for my incubator. It keeps temps pretty stable of temps in between 80 and 83. And I also use a Helix for my male "incubator" and it keeps temps right around 90.

I have used the Zoo Med 500R in my custom incubators and have had great success with them. You can check out my custom incubator updates in the DIY section. The incubator has been on for 2 weeks now and barely flucuates, stays at 83°, it did go up to 84° for a day though.

I use a Helix DBS1000...it's kinda expensive, but keeps the temps quite steady. I just had my first hatchling after using it for 2 years.
