I have a Tremper Albino who is 30g & is a real sweat heart but she very seldom comes out of her hides....I think its due to her sensitive eyes.

Yep, they are extra light sensitive, especially as hatchlings. But as they grow, it bothers them less and less. Just read as much as you can on these forums--there are alot of good people who post good information.

Most of the morphs have albino genes, and all leo's are sensitive to light.
I think if you have one with light or pink eyes, they are more sensitive.
But I dont know if they are harder to tame and care for as adults or not.

I hope not, because that would mean that in our zeal to make pretty leo's,
by selective breeding, we have sacrificed the human friendly pet quality.

I have a bunch of albinos and all of them are pretty friendly. They are all highly sensitive to sunlight but none of my house lights bug them at all. But even on a really cloudy day they will not open up there eyes if I take them outside. I think the UV drives them nuts.

My bell won't come out at all if the light is on. When i feed here i have to do it in the dark otherwise she can't see. If i drop a waxie in front of her and theres a light on in the room she's can't see it, as soon as i step infront of the light or turn it off Bam she's got it. I wonder if having her on white paper towels is hurting more then helping. do you guys think the reflection from a white paper towel is harsh on a sensitive geckos eyes? Sry to ask this in somone else's thread i don't mean to hijack it.

Hmm, that's an interesting point! I've never thought of that, but it does make sense! :main_robin:
