Hey. I may be mistaken, but it looks like my leo's eyes are all black...like they're being covered by something. She's also been rubbing her head (or eyes, perhaps?) on the sides of her hides and the side of her cage. I thought they were like this a few times but I looked closer and they wern't.

However, these looked BLACK. She's had eye problems before.

She's about 6-7 months old.

Also, I'm trying to fatten her up. She's a bit skinny. Would you recomend feeding her wax worms?

We went to the vet about...a month or two ago and was told she was (trying to remember) 18 grams?

Could we see pictures? Is it possible you're looking at her in dim light and her eyes are dialated? What morph is she?

You can squirt a bit of saline solution (sterile contact lens solution) in her eyes to moisten them up but if theres a shed left there it has to come off to avoid further complications. Gently remove with a saline moistened q-tip. It sounds like she is rubbing to try to get it off. You can lightly mist the warm end of her enclosure when she is about to shed to help her eyes. Waxies will fatten her up but I hear they're like crack, quite addicting. We feed supers and have one of the girls on a diet so she doesn't get too fat.

Sobe had that issue too about 3 or so months ago. She had a nasty eye infection that just wouldn't go away even while being treated. It all started mainly because of stuck shed in her eyes. It took forever for them to go back to normal, because her eyes are normally a silvery-gray so it was really weird. We ended up just keep treating her with the ointment and antibiotics from the vet until it went away (took forever) and fed her slurry because she just wouldn't eat. As for the itching, it was always making it worse so we took out everything in her tank except her moist hide and her water dish.
