So this last clutch that hatched, I've come to the conclusion that both eggs hatched too soon, as both hatchlings didn't even make it 24 hours. Didn't even make it 6 hours. One freak accident, I could understand, but two?
The first one had only enough strength to get out of the egg. The second was lively enough for the first few hours and quickly went downhill from there. Both weighed under 3 grams. Both never absorbed their yolk sacs. Both from the same clutch, so same parents. Incubated at 83-85 using Albey's method with perlite. The second egg I did up the temps during the last week from 85 to 90. Could I be doing anything that induces premature hatching, or were these guys just accidents? I just don't want any repeats, you know? The next clutch isn't due to hatch until the middle of next month so I have time to change anything if need be. I just don't want to go through this again. It's one thing for an egg to never hatch, but to see the hatchling...and then to see it die...it's heartbreaking
