Hi guys,

I just thought I'd post some pictures of my very first leo's home I've had her for about a week and a half now and she seems to be settling in rather well. Unfortunately, she didn't want to come out and say "hi" when I took these, but her tail is just about visible in one pic. As you can see, she's in an exo-terra viv. I'm keeping her on kitchen towel, as she is young, and I didn't want to take any risks with all the controversy surrounding the use of sand. Let me know what you all think of her new home :)

I'd also just like to add that her home is not yet finished. I intend on added plants hanging down on the rock background :)

very nice!

If you want something nicer for a substrate you can use Slate or Ceramic Tile that's cut down to size. Of even Kraft paper from a hardware store, it's a brownish color and really cheap. but you can't go wrong with paper towel and someone once commented how a leo on white paper towel always seems to look brighter on paper towel because of the contrast..

PS. You might want to get some digital thermometers, they're easier to read and a little better then the dial type ones :)

Thanks for all your comments :) Slate tile seems like a great idea! I'm just a lil worried that the heat mat wont get through the thick tile. :/ I totally agree as for leos looking better on a white background. My leo is a SHTCTB, and it really shows her colour. As for digital thermometers, I think I'll have to look into those. Certainly it's something I'd consider :)

Its just a suggestion a lot of people on here that have used slate/ceramic tiles with no problems. You can experiment a little and see what works for you..
