Yes, I know guys...I'm a pushover

I got a call from a friend of a friend asking me if I could possibly take a little baby gecko she bought from a pet store yesterday. She brought it home for her 6 year old son, and her husband or boyfriend (whoever he is) told her if she didn't get rid of the "snake" he was going to release it outside, or flush it down the toilet :main_angry:. She was almost in tears over the phone, so I couldn't say no, and I'm glad I didn't, as the little gecko is DARLING :smitten: definitely a tad skinny, but nothing I'm worried about at this point. He's very active, and has a fantastic feeding response. He's a little dehydrated looking, and definitely in need a good shed.

I don't want to disturb him, as the poor thing has been moved around enough in the last couple days, so this is a camera phone picture I snapped when putting him in his new home earlier.

Thanks Sarah and Jess :) He's a sweetheart, although definitely has attitude! I went to throw in a few more crickets for him and he started screeching at me...must have startled him!

He looks about hatchling size. Most hatchlings do that “screech” at first, but quickly grow out of it. He doesn’t look to unhealthy either!

Keep us updated.

He does look about hatchling size Nick, actually my Chloe was bigger than he is when she hatched. It's sad how small they are when they get shipped out to these pet chains. Overall he is pretty healthy, other than like I said being a bit dehydrated and needing a GOOD shed. Trust me, I know screeching well :) Chloe was a screecher at first as well.

Thanks Ken :) BTW, I'm glad you finally got some pictures, and an avatar up! I can't wait to see pictures of Eskimo Kiss :)

Thanks guys!

I got him eating again just a few minutes ago. Looks like this little one is going to do juuuust fine :)

Eric...you're always the first person that gets my phone call when I have another little one. It goes like this...

Eric - "Hello?"
Me - "Hi..."
Me - "Well...guess what I did today..."
Eric - "What morph is this one??"

:main_laugh: You know me too well!!!

I've got a pretty nifty phone. Sony Ericsson P990i with 2 mega pixel auto focus 5.5mm. It's not bad, but definitely not as good as some of the pics others are putting up.

Way to go Heather... It is a bit skinny but not bad at all... In your hands it wont stay skinny, thats for sure... I know in a couple of months we will see vids of it slamming down huge dubias that are longer than the space is between a leos eyes... LOL...

Good luch Heather, but I doubt you will need it...

Wow, I think you discovered a new species of snake...it has legs and eyelids..

Seriously, a snake? I feel bad for that lady and her kid but I'm glad that the little guy is now in your hands! Such a cutie. :D

Good luck!

They need to dump the hubby and keep the gecko by the sound of it.

I'm happy for you and that little gecko. From your previous post I know that by next month that little thing will be double in size and as happy as can be.
