I was sitting down watching Futurama and heard a horrid noise from one of my drawers. This is what I found. For breeding I always keep 2 females per male so that the male doesn't do this. I guess it didn't work this time. I took him out of their drawer and put him back in his and now I have a Sunglow giving me the stink eye.

So that's one of the females? Is that a bite on her shoulder? It looks like the worst spot to me...

Well, that makes sense. I thought it was awefully unnatural looking, and deep. I'm glad for you too that he didn't get the eye.

I recently had a female do that to one of my juvie males, but not that bad. Why can't we just all get along, huh?

That tail bite looks like it didn't feel too good. The eye was definitely lucky. If the guys would calm down and relax a bit, they wouldn't have to fight for sex so much :main_rolleyes:

I actually think I am going to give her this season off now. I figure she made some very pretty babies last year, and she had to deal with the SG being a butt head this year, I'll let her just relax.

I'm so glad her eye is not injured! I see the bite mark continued to her eyelid!

Poor girl! I always worry about that when leaving a male and female together for long. I check on mine constantly. (This is the first year I've left a male with a female for more than an hour at a time.)

Poor girl, he really got ahold of her. That's one of the scariest parts for me, when putting males and females together is the dread of something like that happen. Fortunately so far, none of my guys have really taken a chunk out of any of our ladies.

It was a definite learning experience for me. I have bred Leos for roughly 6 years on and off over an 11 year period and have never had any issues, now this has me rethinking my whole routine. She seems fine, but I really feel guilty for letting this happen.
