Too bad you can't get a snake - they really are a joy to keep!

What do you mean by a step up? Something harder to care for? Or bigger?

I would say a beardie is a great reptile to keep. Maybe you could even do a legless lizard, although I don't know anything about their care requirements! Turtles are pretty neat too!

Good Luck!

They get about 18-24 inches and are def. a bit harder to care for then leo's. They are also really great pets if you handle them frequently and come in some really cool colors!

hey larry! Try a U. milii. They are a step up from leos and you can keep one very happily in a 20 L tank. You can actually keep multiple females in a 20L for breeding situations. They are very cool looking, tolerate gentle handling, eat crickets, and can be kept in a neat set-up. Marcia at Golden Gate Geckos has care sheets on her site and pictures and things. We also have a few pictures on our site as well of U. milii.

Uromastyx need a big tank also... I'm more into different kinds of geckos and have to tell you, I love them! And Teratoscincus species is definitely a bit harder to care for than leos and they are sooo cool! Besides, these are animals that should be kept on sand for their well being...hahaha, no discussions there!!! :p

Greets,

Stevie

Those snake caves with a hole on the top aren't the best idea. If the snake gets more big then it's built for(assuming you'd get a corn) it will get stuck, theres some horror storys with those caves.
