Mack Pastel???

Looks like it could be to me. That light spot is a good sign especially since it's so far from the neck band.

Thats what I was thinking... I have never seen the white go that far down on any of my tangs... The color on this one seems a bit od to me as well... Especially the dark spots... They seem a bit faded being that it just hatched a couple of days ago...

Hope this make sence !right: D in the post you posted (Gregg) of the non snow sibling from your SHTCH x mack snow project the picture of the egg with the bright little non snow hatching picture by picture. Is that little leo this leo ? if so i'd say yes to this leo being a mack pastel as you can see the white on the first band much more clearly on them pictures. If them pictures are not this leo then that leo i'd say is a mack pastel. The title of the post was they're are finerly hatching ? something like that ?.

Michael, good pic. http://www.geckoforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=4352

That is the difference, right there. Look at the first band, where it is much lighter next to the neck. That is just about the only characteristic, that is different than a normal on a hatchling MP. That and they tend to have those stripes on the back legs, like their Mack SNOW siblings do. Other than that alot of the time they display the "circle back" aberrant-pattern, or the same type of aberrant-patterns that the Snows also have.

I think your spot on with the white on the first band thing :main_thumbsup: this second bit just a thought really but looking at baby leo's out side of mack i've seen that white on the first band before and when thay are adults look very mack pastel ? so i'm thinking that mack dosen't even come into it there a good example is in ron trempers book The herpetoculure of leopard geckos on page 40 as hatching it has the white on the first band and at 12 weeks looking very pastel like whiteish head glowing yellow body clean looking tail ???.So i'm thinking mack pastel are just pastel that found there way into mack line ? anyway i think i'm going to give it a go i'll try and find a pastel looking leo not of mack line and see what happens if i'm right i'll get 100% pastel and if that happens from that day forward they will be called just pastels and i will know how to ID them in the future if not everything stays as it is.
