I'm breeding (have bred) a Mack snow het tremp to a sunglow. If I get lucky and get some Sunglow Mack Snow is there a name for that morph?
Do they even look good?
Does anyone have pictures of said pairing results?

They are Called Snowglows, but it all honesty that female looks like a regular Tremper albino to me.

She looks TONS different than my albinos. That pic does not really show her true color. She is not that yellow in person.

I purchased her as a sunglow from a reputable breeder. Can you point me to a pic of an ideal sunglow?

I’d have to agree with Nigel, I wouldn’t call the tremper albino a sunglow…

From your pairing you’ll get 50% Macks, het Tremper & 50% Normals, het Tremper

While we are on this subject. What is the definition of sunglow? Does it technically have anything to do with carrot tail or is it albino with reduced melamine or black coloring?

Thanks for all the n00b help everyone.

Sunglows are leopard geckos that are homozygous for albino and also have SHTCT gene too. This is the only way that a sunglow can be produced. There are several varieties with the colors too. Some are high orange and others are more lighter in color. It is all basically coming from the genetics of the parents. If they are brightly colored animals then the offspring will continue that and will show the same charactoristics.

"She looks TONS different than my albinos" You said she looks tons differant than your other albinos. Are you sure they arn't differant strains of albinos such as bell or rainwater?

That makes sense now. I was thinking of it in boa terms.

boa
Albino + hypo = sunglow

Leos
Albino + SHTCT = sunglow

Hypo is a line bred trait in leos and not a genetic trait like it is in boas, right?

Thanks again.

There is two of my last season Snowglows:

Those are sweet Jakub thanks for posting. I was in Prague for a week last October. I should have stopped by and picked some up. :p

I do have a 25% shot at a Snowbino with red eyes though right?

Then maybe next year a super snowbino. :main_evilgrin:

In my opinion, a sunglow is a Super hypo albino, with no pattern between the neck and the tail. When a gecko is from Sunglow lines, but has maybe some spots on it's body I'd call it a hypo albino. The gecko you posted I feel has way too much pattern to really call even a hypo albino, so I might call it a Tremper from Sunglow lines.

It doesn't matter if it's actually a sunglow or not though, it is a really good looking tremper, and you should hatch some nice ones this year. If she's from Sunglow lines she may even throw you some real sunglows.

Good luck.
