Anyone else have a high CMR?

High CMR= Cricket Mortality rate. Seems like when ever i buy these poor little buggers. I get them home, put them in my cricket keeper, feed them and also clean there cage before hand. Next morning theres always like 10 dead guys at the bottom. Whats the deal? They just decide to leave the mortal coil? They have food, water, and a warm house temp (apartment stays around 70). Is this normal do alot of people lose crickets this quickly?

Where are you getting your crickets from and how well are they cared for before you get them? They may be on their last legs, so to speak, before you even bring them home.

Lol. Amen... I use Mealies.

Crickets just have issues. They seem to never be satisfied. I gave up on them a LONG time ago.

Have you considered other feeders? Roaches, worms, etc.

The same would happen to me when i would buy from pet-co so i stoped and started to buy from a little store just out side of where i live plus pet-co leaves their crickets in bags all day so the will run out of air eventually and just die

******** is are primary buyer. I make sure to get them right outa the big hold tank. Not those pre-boxed ones. I went to a small family pet store got their crickets but they stunk so bad! Not to mention there sizes where where all over the place and small black beetles where in with the crickets (kinda wierded me out). So maybe im just going to have to deal with 1/6 of my crickets kicking the bucket. Looked at alot of ordering places on line did math good deals even after shipping but what about cold temps? Will they die in shipping?

I will need crickets soon when we get our beardie. I gave up on crickets for the gecko because I cannot keep them alive. I have a cricket keeper and they just die off. My problem is, that baby beardies eats like 50 a day! How in the world am I going to keep 500 alive in a week when I cant even keep 25 alive.

I normally order about 1-2 thousand crickets at a time and i always seem have have a good success rate of keeping them. i use gut load and water from pro geckos and even before i started ordering from cody i was about to keep them. The cricket keepers don't seem to be as good as what their marketing team says they are. i have 2 90 quart containers that i house all my crickets in.
