We have these amazingly colored creatures but can only see them at night when you cannot see their real colors!
Does anyone take them out during the day? Seems like a waste if we can only see them in dim light.....

I take mine out all the time during the day...

They even get fed during the day some times

My leos are active during the day also, not just at night

I don't usually bother them during the day (most often they are asleep), but if they act like they want some food, I will feed them. In fact, the little one was staring intently at me the other day for food, even tho it was the middle of the day. Actually more often than not I am not home during the day.

I wake mine up during the day alot and they do fine and as they have gotten more comfortable with me and there tanks alot of time they sleep out on the floor of the tank and really only use there hide when it's time to shed. Try taking the top off the hide and let them come out and leave it off a while so they stay out

I've taken mine out during the day. My boys used to be strictly nocturnal but now they're up at random times. My female is still a little skittish so I don't handle her much but she is active in the day sometimes.

Every one of mine all take catnaps throughout the day/night instead of just sleeping during the day. I can take them out pretty much any time and they're fine. I don't bother them when they're sleeping, though, unless I've got to clean and that's the only time I can do it.

I'm more likely to take them out during the day in the summer, especially on the weekend. Sometimes I take some of them out one at a time and sit on the porch with them. It's amazing how different they look in natural light outdoors, even better than in natural light inside. Often during the summer I'll take out the hatchlings to see how their coloration is developing.

My two "roommate" geckos Les and Lizzy hide and sleep all day, even though I'm not in my room. The 4 rescuees Ricky, Lucy, Cracker and Oreo are in the main room, and Ricky sleeps out in the open alternating between smiling at me and giving me the stink-eye between sleep, haha. Lucy sleeps either under a wedged rock or in the cool humid hide, while Cracker and Oreo stay in the warm humid hide all day usually.

Like a cat, mine is asleep most of the time except when she knows she's getting food or attention :]

My gecko comes out at anytime of the day even though towards 4-5pm she starts coming out more often. I love when its like 6am and i'm getting ready for class and shes just laying there looking at me like, "Your leaving already?" lol

I take mine out too. She sleeps outside now, but if shes in her hide, I try not to wake her. She is active during the day and night so I just play with her whenever she's awake. Sometimes when she's a little tired, I take her out and let her sleep on my shoulder or lap while I do my homework...it's distracting but really cute :)

I'd say it depends on your leo. If they are sleeping in their hide, I wouldn't lift it up all the time to play with them. Seems mean to keep waking them up...you wouldn't want ppl waking you up every night right? lol

I don't bother them during the day unless I need to clean their tanks. But I do see them once in a while when they fell asleep "outside" or coming out to drink water, so cute!

I've found that taking pictures during the day while they are still a little tired is easier than when they are fully awake and fired up.

Mine are usually up all day, and most of them prefer to stay outside their hiding spots. They sleep in periods throughout the day, but in my opinion, they are usually awake.

Then usually at night, they seem to be more active, because in the morning, I seem to get random surprises, like eggs or something.
