Hi, just received my 3 month old female this morning :D

Just wondering, i saw somewhere that you should leave them to get used to their new home for a couple of days before attempting to feed them or handle them...

Is this right? Or shall i stick some food in today?

Thanks

ps. will get some pictures up of her and her viv in the other section soon ;)

I usually give them food and set them up like my established gecks, but leaving them alone for a few days is a good idea to let them settle down.

If you're feeding mealworms and they stay in the bowl then it's fine to put them in later in the evening. If you feed crickets you can offer a couple but if then don't get eaten in a half hour take them out so they don't stress the gecko.

Thanks for the quick replies!

The bowl i have is just about too shallow to keep the mealworms in without them climbing out.

Ill have to get that plastic brown one with the lip on it maybe.

She's been on mealworms since birth but i want to introduce crickets as i want her to get as many nutrients as possible.

mealworms are fine for nutrients, you can gutload and give them carrots for water, you could dust. i put a little vionate in their mealie bowls so they get some when they eat.
