Ok so my one juvi leo is currently on a med and anti inflammatory for a liver issue..Well I went to give it to her this morning and her hide hole fell on the end of her tail..I am pretty sure it broke the the bone/cartilage because it immediately started thrashing like most dropped tails do..However, it did not dislocate from where it was thrashing..I can see where the trauma is, but the tail is still intact..Will it fall off or will I need to go in there myself? Any help is greatly appreciated..Thanks!

It's likely it will harden and eventually fall off. Some people will amputate that part of the tail. I don't think it hurts so I prefer to let nature take its course.

I agree. The tissue should die and fall off in time. If you notice an issue of possible infection or the dead tissue remaining attached then I would go about doing something to help out.

It was wierd because this happend to my girl. A small rock fell on her tail, And it thrashed as if it was going to fall off and I could see blood inside, But it never fell off and infact I think healed because she still has her perfectly plump tail to this day so you never know :) Best of luck.

Ughh..Sadly I went to give her her treatment the other night and the tip just sloughed off..I guess I don't have to worry about infection from dead tissue..I will keep an eye on it too..Thanks again guys!
