I was gonna use some choice words about the thread i started in the general leo forums and all im gonna say that i really think it's messed up thinking I was going to get some info/advice/recommendations on what i will need to make sure my leo's trip from florida to ny was gonna go problem free.. but did i get any? pshhh.. Hell no!

26 freaking page views and not a single post offering any words of advice or suggestions?? WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THAT? Seriously that is bull.

Yanno, it really makes me wonder if next time I ask a serious question about my leo, am I gonna get any help or advice? Thanks a lot people... that really left a bad taste in my mouth about asking for help the next time around.

Sorry, Nora. I remember seeing your post but I waited to reply to it since I've never transported leos longer than a 3 hour trip. I was curious what other people had to say, and I guess I forgot about your post since it didn't get bumped back up.

it's understandable paul and apology accepted only cuz it's you =p .. and this is nothing against you or anyone else since i still love everyone here... but people should just jump right in and post, regardless of what else will be said or recommended.. Personally I may not know everything to great detail, but at least I will make an attempt to help someone. It's all in a learning process that everyone can and will benefit from.

But then again, if people who have some useful information are gonna just sit around waiting for someone else to answer, then it's kinda pointless for me to even post questions or concerns in hopes that I will actually be helped in the first place. If other people see that, especially newbs to the hobby and the board, it's gonna be detrimental to this site over a period of time.

I'm sure I will be asking for advice again in the future, but still, i now have my reservations on whether people will actually answer or not.. I honestly felt cheated and had to take a chance to go out on a limb, ensuring that my leo made it ok to ny, which he did. But there should have been no excuse to why my question wasnt answered. None what so ever.

Sorry you feel let down. It may be your personal belief that the effort is more important than the results but I disagree with that. Look at Kingsnake.........do you really want a bunch of self proclaimed matter experts spoutting off bad information for anyone to see. I think that would be more harmful than people not having a knowledgable response to your question.
If you wanted reasurance you should have sent a pm to someone. I am sure that most people here would gladly help. I read your post and from what it said I felt there wasn't anything for me to add. :)

I didn't see the post but I know that I would prefer to say nothing than say something that is incorrect, especially with the health of animals involved.

Lets not forget that those page views could be from non-registered members as well...

I am sorry Nora, but I like Brian would rather say nothing if I am unsure. I would feel terrible if I gave you advice and it did not turn out good and you possiblly lost an animal over something I told you.

I would say maybe try to get in touch with Kelli or really Steve. With his zoo experience they may be able to point you in the right direction. Good Luck.

my point is this..

if you got useful information (and is factual/correct), and it's gonna actually help someone, then by all means.. don't hold out, if it ends up being redundant..then ok.. it's understandable... post it anyway. I cant begin to tell how many times ive posted info that someone else already posted... and im sure all of you here have done that before.

Sorry Nora, havn't had a lot of time to post the last few days.

Other than not keeping the geckos on the floor i think you have it pretty well covered.

Sorry Nora, I didn't see your post either. I'm sure if I had, I would've had some advice for you!! I'm glad that your leo made it to NY safely anyway though! A lot of leo shipping/traveling can be dangerous for your leo, so I'm glad that he/she made it there okay! :)

I try to read every post, but sometimes one gets past me. I hit the "New Posts" button every time I log on, but if too much time has elapsed since my last visit, some threads fall to the bottom. Sorry, Nora!

If this ever happens again where folks aren't getting the responses they want, my suggestion would be to add another post in your original thread saying something to the effect of, "Hey, I still need some help with this!" and then the thread will go back to the top of the list.

well what's done is done, and i think that we can agree on that.

I've had a stressful week myself with the move and all, and I needed to let off some steam.. lol But nonetheless, as long as we all understand each other's views and whatnots, then I'd say lets keep the ball rolling..

and no more apologizing from you people or im gonna let off another rant thread about that.. LOL!

Russ... I made it to NY fine, but now i get to have fun finding reptile food suppliers around me, rather than having to have it shipped in from wherever.. and i really dont want to have 500 crix shipped in for 1 lil leo. lol
