Average heat given by a ZooMed UTH

I bought a ZooMed UTH fitted for a 10/20 gallon tank and it looks awfully small! (8x6). I'm personally a Exo-Terra Fan, but this was on a sale.

I was wondering for people with this kind of UTH (if you don't regulate the heat) how hot can it get?

P.S. I have a dimmer to control the heat. I'd just like to know if the heater could achieve the desired temperature.

To some extent it depends on the tank size and substrate, as well as the ambient temp. I imagine. I have had the zoomeds 10-20 gallon size get up to about 105-106 without a thermostat under the visionarium which just has a thin plastic bottom. On the other hand, I have regularly tested the zoomed mini (1-5 gallons) with a 10 gallon and ceramic tile and found that it gets up to about the right temp, 92, without a thermostat. The rheostat should work as long as you re-check the temp when the air temps change too greatly.

In my apartment (ambient: 70 F) my spare ZooMed gets up to 109.5 F naked hanging off the edge of my desk (plugged it in this morning and just checked it now with my temp gun).

Depending on your substrate that might be fine, but I'd hook up a dimmer just in case (the UTH in my Leo tank got the tile floor up to 104 degrees w/o a rheostat - It's a no-name knockoff though :)
