Baby food may be working!

My leopard gecko that I bought 7/9 is STILL not eating, and STILL has diarrhea. He has only lost 1 gram, but his girlfriend who was the same size and bought together, has gained 7 grams! She eats like a pig. Someone suggested on another thread awhile back to try baby food, so I tried chicken. He wouldn't take it from the spoon, but when I smudged some on his bottom lip he lapped it up! I'll try again tonight(and mix in some vitamins), but hopefully this will jump start his appetite.

Quit feeding your leopard gecko baby food. you would get diarrhea if that's all you ate too.

Stick with what is proven to work, have paitence. Chicken??? why would you do that? Insects are the only way to go. They're plenty of threads on here that will guide you in the right direction. Stick with food that moves and grabs your Leopard geckos attention such as, mealworms, superworms, crickets, wax worms(treats) and even pinky mice to name a few. Dont feed your reptile chicken or baby food, that's ridiculous. If your concerned which it seems you are, take it to a vet who can treat herps, they arent hard to find and they usually provide you with all the info you need. If you just got yours, chances are it's still adjusting to it's surroundings, might want to separate the two geckos, the other might be bullying the other.

First of all, he's had diarrhea all along, and it's actually gone away since having a bit of chicken. He's had normal poops, except small for a few days now.
It was in another thread a long time ago about giving chicken baby food to help jump start an appetite. He may have eaten 1 mealie I couldn't find.
And he is separated from the female.

you can use a syringe, and some pet stores have specially made emergency food for situations like yours, my friend used it on his extremely skinny leos and it brought them back, hope you have luck :)

Have you tried making insect slurry? Get some various bugs, crickets, phoenix worms, and a waxworm. Use a wand mixer to make them paste, add calcium/vitamim supplement. Feed to unwell gecko with eye dropper. If needed just drop it on thier face by the jawline and they will lap it up.

It worked!!! :D
He's eating!!! Two days after 2 small feedings I dumped a few crickets in his cage and he went right after one and chowed it. Phew!!!
His poops are also still normal, though few and far between. No more diarrhea.
Yay!!! :main_thumbsup:

Did you use the slurry or what did you use? My lil buddy is not eating a whole lot either...
