Backrounds

Do you put the background on the inside of the cage or on the outside? I just bought one and the guy at the store said to put it on the outside because it's safer and easier to clean. I know it makes cleaning easier but safer? :main_huh:

I put mine on the outside, mainly because I don't usually think about putting a backdrop on until after my leos are already in the tank... don't know why but I always seem to forget about it.

I can see why it would be cleaner, and it's one less place for crickets and mealies to try to hide, but I'm not sure how it could be considered dangerous to have it inside of the tank. Interesting...

i say outside i just seems the normal and correct way to have it i dont have a normal back ground mine is thick bits of wall paper so i think inside the tank my two babes would try and climb it

ive never once thought to put em on the inside.. growing up with fish tanks... of course they always go outside... so out of habbit... it all goes on the outside!

I'm assuming you are speaking of the paper ones. Outside installment. Paper is a food source for most of the prey feeders, if you offer non captive worms, crickets, etc...........besides smears of both prey feeders and gecko ?? and even occasional poop will be seen on the front inside glass of an aquarium. So I would assume cleaning would be a problem especially.
Danger would be from (contamination) not cleaning it, (or being able to clean it well enough)...as you would find yourself not doing after 1 or 2 times of the big CHORE it would be......
Or you will just scrap it and get another
to put on the outside.... take care. HJ

You can change it easier too if you ever wanted too.
