Some of them are a little fiesty as youngsters, but they tend to chill out as they get older. No worries. :)

Young leos like with any young animal, tends to be more nervous and defense. When their young and small like that, everything is out to eat them. Most calm down with age and gentle handling.

i have one who is the same way, I was dropping a little waxy in front of his rock and boy he rocketed out and bit me ! They can be SO FAST!

If you put your hand in with him/her for a few minutes a day he/she may get used to your hand and when he/she gets bigger should become more comfortable with handling. Just scoop him/her up slowly and carefully and all shall be well in the world!

just slowly move your hands towards his mouth, dont grab for it though and let it lick your hand. when its comfortable with your hand, try to put your hand in front of the gecko so it could walk onto your hand. good luck.

Maybe try talking to him softly while SLOWLY move your hand towards him. Last year, I had one that was very defensive, he did calmed down eventually when he grew older (although still not as "human-friendly" as my other geckos). :)

my young one is exactly the same, i was just changing his water today and he popped his head out, I saw he was looking at my hand the way he looks at his prey and I knew he would lunge and he did but he totally missed my hand which was thankful!
Although yesterday I put my hand in and he came in and he licked it so maybe he was just grumpy cos I woke him up today lol!
