Ball Python Changes Colors

Is there really a morph that changes over 150 colors? I was just told this, and although I don't keep up with BP morphs that much, I've never heard of it and couldn't find it. Or did the person who asked me about his BPs get scammed?

I kept asking for a name or something and all the person kept saying was he took it to a pet store and they offered $1000 so he knows it's rare. It sounded like BS but he was determined it's rare. Has a normal and this special BP and is going to breed them.

yeah whitney, its bull. there is no such thing. at first i thought maybe some new morph that has an iredesince (not sure of the spelling, but like a rainbow) to it. but super blacks, and super pastels have that. they are solid in color, light brown to dark black with no markings. so i think this kid is lieing or got scammed. is he saying it changes like a chamelean?

Nevin. I figured it was b/s but hey he won't give me anything other than rare and pet store offered $1000. Personally, if it did what he says, then I'm sure it would be worth more than $1000 even to a pet store. I think he got scammd if he is even telling the truth about the snake. I don't think he paid $1000, but was offered that supposidly. I'm waiting for another response, but doubt I get one.

That doesn't sound right at all to me. My boyfriend has hundreds of pictures of morphs and there is nothing even remotely like that. Plus if the snake was that rare, there is no way some random person would have it. Only a big name breeder would have it and I doubt they would let something like that go for less than 30 grand. Either someone lied to your friend, or your friend is lying to you.

Barbel, it's not a friend. It's just a random person online that found my BP article. And, yes, if it was real there is no way he came up with it randomly less than $1000 like he's said.

He said he's in Cananda and that a lady gave him 2 snakes and all supplies for 250. He didn't know the morph as he has forgotten.

Told him he got a deal with the two snakes and supplies, but he didn't get a rare morph that changes colors.

I asked for a picture.

I have not heard of or even know of any person that has hatched or purchased a snake that changes colors. All snakes have gradual change over their lifetime. Like the person said above darker snakes have an iridescence after a shed, but other than that this is more than likely a scam. Hey more power to him if he did get a rare snake for a cheap price, but I would not expect it to pass the gene onto its offspring. He is doing the right thing by trying to prove out. If he does send you a picture, ask this person if you can post the picture here to see what others think.

He is the one that said the pet store offered him $1k right? What average "pet store" buys a ball for $1k that none of us has even heard of? I'd have to agree. Seems like this person may be actually the one trying to scam you. He may have come to you with this snake with all this hype to try to scam you but has realized with your replies in emails that you're not taking the bait.


Only time you'll see a ball python "change" color is a gravid female that has that "glow" to her.
