Banded super snow

Very cool! I think you could have a new co-dom snow line... Your super form is banded rather than striped... That's my opinion from your story and pics...

very nice SS. I don't see any other traits of the eclipse gene at work here, Did you get any snows when you bred to a non snow?

Not a Super snow it's a Tinded snow. Stunning example of a snow though. Tinted eye in Snows is very common, It crops up all over, It's a fairly random trait.

I would tend to agree too.... but you never know with these things....

When bred to normal, non snow, all babies hatches yellow and black but they go whiter after few weeks. Eyes of them are normal. when ss is bred to that heterozygous offsprings you will get half of babies normal and half white and black with black eyes. If you cross two ss you will get only ss.

both llook like mack snows, so looks like its not a new snow gene.

Super Snows hatch with a solid pattern that fades into spots as they grow. This one hatched completely banded. It's really cool looking but I think it's a Snow with black eyes (caused by the Eclipse gene or something else). If it were a Super Snow all of it's offspring when bred to a Normal should be Snows.

What kind of normal did you crossed into it? Cause if you crossed a fasc into it it would not be too surprising.
Imo I also would say its a nice Mack Snow and not a Super Snow. It happens that you have eclipse eyed macks maybe du to true eclipse, false eclipse or so.
I can understand that you are not sure cause on this picture you definatially have a SSish look but still I would not say it is a SS

Do you have pics of the ones you think are banded SS as babies?
I would counto n Mack Snow and a good bunch of luck with the breeding
But still a pretty cool one. You should look for linebreeding this look.

Geckowiki.com has photos of hatchling snows for comparison. They change so much as they grow and for snows it can be difficult unless you ID it fresh from the egg.

Have you crossed one of this SS (with the solid eyes) to an Eclipse? If yes, have you hatched any Snow Eclipse or Eclipse?

If they are mac snow eclipse why didn't I get any mac super snows?
From breeding to a normal, all babies are "snows" (normal eyed, white yellowish as adults but almost white with black pattern when few weeks old). The same results I get from breeding with raptor female.
If two ss are bred together all of babies are the same- banded ss.

As for now, I have 6 males and 14 females of my "?ss?" (my name is Kasper so i hope that it'll be Kas ss and i will try to do something new with them next year. I just can't wait for first babies from breeding hypo and jungle "snows" and from breeding "ss" to enigma.
