Being impersonated?

It's not on this site, or any reptile site for that matter, it's on a gaming website. But someone is saying they are me, they are claiming to be the owner of my website, and just basically impersonating me completely. What's a person to do when something like this happens? The only reason I know is because someone else contacted me about it.

Well, for starters, contact them and tell them to stop. Also contact an administrator of the website, explain the situation, and request the user be banned.

I have asked her to stop several times, she has been harrassing me via e-mail and other ways for two months now. I did contact the webmaster of the site and reported her on the BOI. I also put a notice on our site, just in case anyone should come in contact with her and she continues to try to claim to be me. She was caught again today, still claiming to be "Jessica Butler," she won't even admit she is lying at this point.

I had a similar thing happen awhile back. Some idiot was going in reptichat and using my name and claiming to be me and insulting people and crap. I didnt know anything about it till some people messaged me. Sadly there wasnt much I could do because anyone can pick a name and go on those chats. I dont even go in reptichat or any other chat rooms lol. All I could do was let people know that it wasnt the real me. Its really sad that there are people that childish with no life out there.

Yeah, this person is threatening to do all sorts of things and she has been harrassing me via e-mail for over a month, long before she tried pulling this stupid little game. This is just the icing on the cake. I feel like there's nothing I can do. I haven't heard anything from the webmaster yet.

Save every e-mail you can as well as any conversations with this person and other people about the situation. Personally, I agree with Rick. I'd contact the police. =/

Well I definitely have every e-mail.. Someone suggested to trace her i.p. from the e-mails too, which I have done. It says she's in Sunnyvale, CA; but of course, she denies that and claims to be in Ohio :main_rolleyes: I am sure we will be contacting the police today, after all of the messages she keeps sending. GRRRR this is really starting to be more than just a little bit irritating.

Wow Jess. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this crap! People are so weird these days...just be careful. So many crazies out there. I hope it all gets figured out girl.
