What, in your opinion, is the best gutload for my mealies/supers? Currently, I use Flukers Cricket Feed and cornmeal that has 4% Calcium, mixed together. My veterinarian recommended this, but the last few times i've bought the Flukers I noticed grain mites after a day or two. I was just wondering if there's anything better that you guys use. Thanks ::main_evilgrin:

I use the gutload from pro geckos for my mealworms and we started mixing some in with the roach food, too.

Might have to try some of Cody's gutload. I have been using a mix of crushed bran cereal, dried milk, wheat germ, and I have added some of the Flukers. I also put some potatoes and carrots in there for moisture and Vits. My mealworms have been thriving in it, and my geckos are healthy and of good weight.

You might like to READ "Grain Mites In your Meal Worms"
to understand what lets them get started, and the effects it can cause
with your geckos........After many tests I find : LAYER HEN CRUMBLES
as the food source, ORANGE PEEL & CARROTS for moisture laid on
top of the grain...CORN HUSKS are great for harvesting worms
inside them (of course when corn is in season)....
(When adding moisture items ....
not right out of the fridge to the container since it will carry sweating from the temp' change)............
Dried out orange peel, husks, and carrots can remain ??????
until the next full moon or longer,
as they are also useful in gathering spots for worms
and the beetles............Wetness can result in mold/mildew and break down the grain.....allowing mites entry into the grain......Take care.. HJ
