Speaking of which, I bought this book a while ago... (looks like the price went down too... :blank: ) And it's a great book, lots of stuff in it.

I was wondering tho has it been updated since I've bought it with , I believe I got mine around 2006ish. That does seem like a lot more time than it really is.

I honestly think that Morph wise the book is out of date. But as far as care information it is a decent resource. I personally believe input from multiple sources like this on this site is the best research

Morphs are more advanced now, thats true but the book is STILL the absolute best when it comes to care and information.

I think i read or heard somewhere that Ron was going to update the book in 2011, maybe i dreamed it... im not sure.

But yes, that is the best book about leopard geckos

I wouldn't say its the Best as far as care... I think talking to any of the reputable breeders on this site is far more helpful then getting your information from one, nearly 5 year old resource.

the 'bible' helped me have a better understanding on what you get when certain morphs are crossed to which.

not the best in care info, but if you want to breed on a small scale and have a better understanding on morphs this book is the way to go

Is the information in this book put in 'layman's' terms so even the beginer 'Leo Lover' can understand what is being discussed?

Does it have all the basic information (setting up the habitat, feeding it, things to think about, etc.)?

I looked as some of the book online and what I could see talked about breeding, identifying male/female, various mutations, menopause, female agression, etc. Many things I would probably never need to know in order to make my leo happy.

Basically my previous post is just asking: Would the "The Herpetoculture of Leopard Geckos" be a wise purchase for someone who will not be breeding but will just be enjoying a single gecko as a pet?

Is there a better book option for the novice who just wants to know about the tank, feeding, health, (ie basic needs) for a leopard gecko?
