So I was milling around Wal-mart the other day looking for random things that might serve some type of purpose in a my gecko or dragon tanks and guess what I discovered! They sell these thick glass ash trays for $.98 each and they are the perfect shape for a leo water bowl. They are thick and kinda heavy so they wont tip over and the edge is not so high that it is hard to get into, but high enough to hold a good amount of water. I would think they would also work good for a meal/wax worm dish. I was so excited. Anyone looking for a better water bowl for their leos might want to check 'em out. I wonder if the cashiers ever wonder when I buy 6 ash trays, 4 rolls of shelf liner, and 5 or 6 packs of gladware? He he :p

lol, lots of people on here use them. They are great for food bowls too!

Oh and we've checked out of walmart with like 20 of those things!

Haha, I do the same thing--I'm always peering at tupperware, plant pots, pretty much any containers I come across in stores, wondering, "Hmm, could I use this in a gecko house?"

I've thought to look at the candle holders at Wal-Mart and didn't see anything good--I've apparently overlooked these gems you guys are mentioning...pics, please! ;) Or, what section of the store are ashtrays in?

They are in the area with kitchen stuff. Next to cutting boards and cooking tools. I dont think I could get a god pic cause they are completely clear glass. One of my leos like to lay in his water, the others I never see do it. They prefer their humid hides when they need help shedding.

It could be that they're too hot when they always dip themselves in the water.

Sometimes when they are shedding, they will get in there and soak!! :D
So I always make sure it's big enough but not deep.

I would use these ash trys, but I think they make my leos tank setup look weird. Plus, I think they are to big and bulky...

But that's just what I think. :D

Yah, that's what I ran into as well, but I figured it's still better than $4.99 for a dish at the pet store! ;)
