Ive seen birch bark sold for gecko tanks for decoration http://www.baskinglizards.com/product_info.php?products_id=84
I have some that I got from my neighbor (they have a tree that they cut the branches off of and the wood rotted out) and was wondering if after cleaning it in a bleach/water solution, rinsing it very well and then drying it would it be safe to use as hides and just decoration in the tank?

I would think it's safe.

I'm using holey drift wood and Cholla cactus (from eBay) for hides which I also use in my fish tanks. They come cleaned from the traders. Since fish get only the cleanest tank decor, I figured I can't do wrong by using the same for my geckos. I'm not putting wood in the oven to sterilize it myself :)

Some of my leos are real climbers :D

Any other opinions?
