I have 3 female leos and my oldest one hogs all the food. I am feeding them superworms currently and the other two can only eat if i take the oldest out during feeding time. Would it be a good idea if i seperated her into her own tank and left her by herself?

Absolutely. Separate them. You'll notice a big improvement in the two females that are currently being bullied. While you're separating them, you may want to consider giving each girl her own enclosure.

Good luck!

I dont have enough tanks to give them each their own enclosure. The only reason i am able to seperate the adult is because i have an extra tank lying around. How long do you think it would take to get the other two filled out?

Why are you set on having them together? They really do better individually, unless you're breeding, and even then it should only be for a few days....

It is not always a must to seperate your males and females unless there is bullying going on, except for the couple months to give your females rest. As long as everyone gets a long it doesn't hurt to keep more than one leo in an enclosure. Now if they don't get along then common sense says seperate them.

Need be you can always put up a divider if it comes down to seperating the other two without getting a third tank.

Just get plexiglass cut to fit, and a pack of clear hooks with the tape. All in all costs like 5 bucks and works like a charm. ;) You can even double up on the plexiglass and cut a tank background so they can't see each other.

I did this when Hera was bullying Talia. And we haven't had issues since, Talia is way happier being on her own. :main_thumbsup:

I am probably going to do this as well with a 20L that I have. I was curious what the clear hooks would do? I was just going to tape it there once I cut it to snug fit. If there is a better trick, I would love to know. Thanks.

I have a plastic divider that you would usually use for a fish tank, would that be ok to use.
