Saying no names just been on a web site there's a leo tagged just as BLANCO het DB.Really hope it's somthing new and he's not parming off blazing blizzard het eclipse off with a differant name.All very well DB's are blazing blizzard + eclipse not somthing i like but it is blazing blizzard + eclipse so give a differant name if you must as it dose have a little addded plus.But when you start naming the het's i think that just pushing things to fare.

Sorry but albino + blizzard is blazing blizzard nothing more nothing less even if it is het tremper eclipse and even if it's whiter than usual.

PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE TELL ME IT'S SOMTHING REALLY NEW AND SPECIAL.And not just a whiter than usual blazing blizzard het eclipse.

I think a blanco is a diablo blanco without just normal albino eyes.

But beings a DB is just a eclipse blazing blizzard.Take away the eclipse eye gene you are left with just blazing bizzard.So you done really have any right to rename it as it's just a blizzard blizzard het eclipse.

If I went to pimpmygecko.com and they had a "Pablo het KILO" that looked like a blizzard, I would ask king pimp the genetics behind it before opening my wallet. But if I wasn't interested in buying , I wouldn't bother typing the question to him

I guess since the combination morph is called DB, the Blizzard trait had allready been re-named in that project. So yes I think the Blizzard is now being called a Blanco, by the originator of that morph.

I think the question was about the "Blanco" morph.

Nope-see below. A Blanco is a BB het RAPTOR, not a simple BB or even a BB het eclipse.

Well isn't that what it is? A Raptor is the albino version of Eclipse, so I can see where he is coming from.

No not a question, just the last part of the statement.

"Het Eclipse" would be the same as saying "het Raptor", only some of us prefer to call them het Eclipse. IMO that(Eclipse) is the "gene" you are referring to when you say het Raptor, and the gecko is an Albino. Being het for "Patternless Stripe" is a given, in this project, making "het Raptor" somewhat incorrect. Especially since the patterning trait/s will have no affect on a Blizzard/Blazing/Diablo Blanco.

It's simple: If a BB is het for RAPTOR then it is, by definition, "het for DB"-since a DB is a RAPTOR BB - therefore, a blanco is indeed "het for DB".

Yada Yada Yada. It has been proven by many breeders that the Ruby-eyed gene and the eclipse gene are one in the same... just the albino vs. non-albino version of the same genetic eye trait. So, if we are going to be politically correct, it's all Eclipse as far as I am concerned.

Not just the newbies are confused! Since we are ALL becoming more and more confused with all these breeders dubbing their own names for morphs (or combination morphs) that already exist... now we have two 'patternless' morphs! I have to explain this so often, I think I'll just make it part of my voice mail message! LOL!

I wish naming geckos morphs was more about trying to work together to standardize the industry and less about egos.

Well, since Mr. Tremper originated BOTH the RAPTOR and the Diablo Blanco (and neither "already existed"), both fairness and common industry practice dictate that they and their derivatives are his to name, right?

It would be great if the "movers and the shakers" in this hobby/industry could get together and standardize nomenclature. I won't be holding my breath waiting for it to happen, but I'd support it.
