i agree, bloody stool can be a sign of many different issues. i would get her to a vet as soon as you can. and yes, please let us know how she is doing.

The pic is a little blurry but are you certain its blood and not clear fluid (pee) on the tile coloration? Sometimes gex will have just a urate along with pee and no poop, or the poop will be someplace else. You can dab it with a piece of tissue to confirm. If it is blood, yes, a vet is needed. Hope everything turns out okay!

Im pretty sure its blood. Its pretty red. Either way im going to the vet tomorrow to get lubed up. They wont do fecal tests without looking at the animal..

So i have to spend 109 bucks so they can tell me they need to do the fecal for 50... :main_angry:

anyways... Do you guys know how fresh the stool sample has to be?

Usually most vets like the stool sample no older than 24 hours and some don't want you to refrigerate it either. Ask the vet honestly what their particular protocol is for colelcting and storing samples from leos.

I asked this morning when the appt was made and they said " the fresher the better" and "put it in a ziplock bag".

Hopefully she drops a hot fresh one right before leaving ahaha.

I've seen several posts mentioning that car rides for some reason makes leos poop so she could give ya a nice one on the way there.

Here is my 2 cents
I noticed you are using a multi vitamin daily. You can overdose a leo of vitamins and vit D3. I noticed when i use too much multivitamin the urates can have a salmon color to them. When a vet examined it was most likely due to a overdose of vitamin D and other ingredients. As soon as I stopped using the suppliment so much the urates went back to normal within 3-4 days and never saw any ill effects. Now many things can cause red urates/feces such as:
Crypto
hookworm
Renal Failure
coccidea
etc
I definetly think a fecal will help you out. And either way I would not use a multi vitamin every day. Repcal without D3 is a great Calcium to use on the off days when you not using the vitamin

She hasn't pooped yet. I still took her to the vet yesterday and she is fine visually except for the hernia she has on her stomache.

I was super worried that I would get a vet who didn't know anything about leo's. Luckily I got a vet who breeds them! Very very happy with that. He even correctly named what line of snow she is from.

Now I just have to wait for her to drop a fresh nugget so I can drop it off.

Ill try to later when I get home from work. It doesn't look bad down there.. Her slit just never closed after she dropped the sack.

That would be great as I'm very interested to know exactly what it looks like. Glad it doesn't look bad!

Hey I didn't forget about you. Just hitting some speed bumps in this thing called life. Ill try to hold her down tonight to snap the pic ahaha.

And for an update on her condition...

I don't think it was blood I saw anymore. I believe the liquid that came out with her poop mixed with the repashy powder and made it look like blood.

She does have pinworms, though and will start treatment soon.

Hey, that happened to me, too!!! My hatchlings' poop turned turquoise, because some powder got on it and got wet!! Nothing to worry about. Pinworms are also easily treated by the vet with doses of Panacur. Shouldn't be expensive; only two rounds necessary normally, at about 12-16 dollars each. Hope your little one is fine soon! Mine survived the pinworms just fine.
