This season I was fortunate to breed my male Enigma with several different females. Two of the pairings I was really excited about were Enigma X Bold Stripe (animals from Kelli, but the idea came from Marcia :p ) and Enigma X Red Stripe (several different RS females).

Unlike a few breeders on GF.net I did not get ANY striped Enigma offspring. Although the last few Enigmas I did get showed a little of something or another.

Pictured first (first two photos) is an Enigma from a Enigma X Bold Stripe breeding. No striping but the two enigmas I got from that pairing are yellow, where every other Enigma I have produced hatched orange.

Pictured second (last two photos) is from an Enigma X Red Stripe. This one has some sort of stripe type thing going on. It's hard to tell when the Enigmas are younger, but I can already see the Red Stripe influence.

I cannot wait till some of these get older!

Enough rambling....enjoy the photos ;O)

That's exactly what most of our Enigma x Bold Stripe Babies look like. I think that the Enigma would have had to be from striped lines to get striped babies. That's how we got lucky with our Bold Stripe Snow Bell Enigmas, both of the parents carried stripe genes. I'm sure if you breed these back to a Bold Stripe you'll get nice striped Enigmas. It'll be a fun project for next year!

I think your doing great--stripe is the most easy to interupt trait--I have hatched only one enigma similar your redstripe cross, and I'm using a tremper enigma het Raptor male bred to Aptor/raptor females--Most of the raptor project enigmas (that aren't "banded") still have remnants of the banding creeping up their sides--like this guy:

Thanks guys!

Mel....I thought about that, but my Bell Albino X Bold Stripe babies are heavy on the BS patterning. That is why I have been expecting to see striped BS Enigmas.

Either way, I will be trying for better stripes next season.
