Bug Bite?

Could the below picture be a bug bite? When feeding and cleaning yesterday, this hole basically was not there. I was feeding and cleaning cresteds and noticed this girl in her food bowl, so I went to move her and saw the huge hole in her side.

She is housed by herself. The only thing she had in her cage was one medium superworm. I gave her about 3 or 4 last night, she had one left over.

I cleaned it up tonight, and will definitely keep an eye on it. It's not quite as bad as the pictures made it look.

OH DAMN, erm clean it out put some tamodine on it, etc etc you know the drill, superworms could definately have done that, or crickets?

What have you left in the viv with her.

Enigmatic, it's by her back leg.

Sean, I got cleaning covered. Like I said the only thing in there were the medium supers. No crickets. But again it wasn't there yesterday, at least I didn't notice it and she was fed and taken care of yesterday.

She was in shed yesterday, so I didn't really mess with her just a spot clean and feeding, but there wasn't anything in her tank yesterday before I fed her anyway.

She hasn't had crickets in over a week, and she usually has them eaten pretty quick. She doesn't care for roaches, so I never gave her any unless they were small. Even then she hasn't had roaches in her tub for a while. Just supers lately. All of my adults are housed solo.

It looks to me like it may be self inflicted. Trying to pull stuck shed off so bad that she took a thin layer. I know superworms have the strength and ability to do serious damage but no healthy gecko will let a worm cause that much damage.

really? Stuck that bad, she gorged herself to get it off? Because, it's most definitely more than just a layer of skin she pulled off.

She's otherwise perfectly healthy. The supers were my only guess.

I don't know. I have seen geckos with super worm bites but in order for a worm to get that much off and that deep she would have had to let it happen for a while, and as stated before...she is healthy. I have seen some geckos have thin layer of skin removed because of a tough shedding and them trying to rip it off. If its deep then I have no idea. Anything in the cage she could have cut herself on? can you show a pic from further away so we can see where exactly on the body it is?

I think its from shedding as well. If I remember correctly, I think Marcia had a gecko that did the same, keep on biting off a chunk on the side of his body during every shed. It can happen.
