I dont think this is a get rich quich. I guess the word business is not the word I was looking for. I just would like to care for them and breed them. I dont think by any means that I will be getting a lot of money. I already have incubators (given to me by my grandfather basicly they are hova bators) and tubs. I know it will cost money. This is why I have been saving my money for so many years is because I wanted to find somthing that I really liked and I would stay interested in. And geckos are that thing. I just wanted to do a little somthing where I could sell Leos and make a little money weather it goes back to caring for them or if it is profit.

As mentioned earlier you may need to acquire some sort of license or permit in order to sell gecko's from your home. Which may require some paperwork and paying some fee's.

Also, because of your age, you may need to have a parent or guardian sign off on those documents if it is needed. I do not know about Florida but if I remember correctly some states do require one to be at least 18 years of age.

I am not a breeder so I cannot advise on the possible challenges you may encounter. Like any investment, take your time, do your research, and keep it fun.

Good luck with your project. =)

This is a hard hobby to get into in terms of being able to sell. Most people go to established breeders with a reputation versus a newbie, and it can be hard to get a reputation... Trust me on that one. Ha.

As for website tips... Make sure to include terms, shipping info, and contact info. You may want to include caresheets for the reptiles and feeders that you raise. Make sure that you make them unique versus copied from another website because people can buy a book and get the basics. What they want is personal experience and help. Clear and crisp photos and graphics are a must.

Business tips... Make sure that you have your terms clearly defined.

Also, you're 13... You don't know what you're going to like in however many years. This may not be a hobby that you'll be interested in sticking with long term. You really need to make sure that you know how to care for the two geckos that you have before you decide to breed. You've just gotten both geckos within the past few months. You have a lot of learning to do still.
