Bump on egg?

So one clutch was supposed to hatch around the 31st. Early on this month, an egg from that clutch molded over/dented/smelled so I threw it away, but no other eggs in the incubator have molded. Right now only 3 are candling pink/red out of the seven in there, and the one that's due to hatch on the 31st is now, and has always, candled a dull yellow. It feels sort of squishy, too, compared to the others, and a little lighter. I was almost sure there was nothing in it...

Well today I looked into the 'bator, and there's a bump on the side of the egg--sort of reminds me of a wart. I thought it was a water droplet or some perlite or something but it's actually the egg.

What is it? My first thought was maybe it's the hatching trying to get out and it's in the very, very first stages? I've only caught an egg hatching a few times before and I've never seen this bump thing..

Any ideas?

Anybody?

Has anyone had an infertile egg suddenly grow a bump before collapsing? I'm just trying to figure out what this is..

I don't know for sure, maybe the baby poking against the shell? All I know is that of the 6 that have hatched in the last 3 days, about half of them looked perfect up to the moment of hatching and the other half were dented and shriveled for days. You never know.

ah, well it did end up being infertile. I pipped it because i was 99.9 percent sure it was. And it looks like nothing ever developed at all. This was her first clutch, so I wasnt really expecting it to be fertile. Her second clutch looks much more promising, so we'll see about them in about a month and a half
