Does anyone know where I can get something to seperate my 20 long?I was going to try to hous a female next to my male, Gobi. Would that work, or would that freak them out? Should I have two UTH, one on each side, or one?How many heat-lamps would I need, just one in the middle? If they sell seperators, how much are they? Any advice would be nice!:)

Cut a piece of plexiglass or acrylic to fit. Someone on this list suggested cutting it a little narrower than necessary and then getting some aquarium tubing, cutting it lengthwise and sliding it onto the sides.

You could have 2 UTH, one on either end (get the smaller size ones for 1-5 gallon tanks rather than the 10-20 size) so there's room to thermoregulate. Alternatively, you could get Zoomed heat cable and tape it to the bottom of the tank along the back, the length of the tank. Then the "hot side" would be the back half of the tank for each section and the "cool side" would be the front.

You could put contac paper on the plexiglass so the geckos couldn't see through it.

I don't think you need any heat lamp at all.

Now that I've written all this,I realize that half of a 20 long is only 12"x15" for each gecko. It they're adults, that's kind of small. If you have the space, you may want to consider investing in a 10 gallon tank for one of them. If you have the space and the money (although cheaper on craigslist), you may want to consider getting a 40 gallon and dividing that.

Good luck

They sell tank dividers for fish but I learned the hard way with using them for leos lol. They have little holes and the leos can use there claws to climb right up and over them lol

go to Lowe's or Home Depot....

Find the aisle with the 1/4 inch bath board. Down that aisle, or at least near it, should be 6 ft long plastic strips. You're looking for pieces that look like this.......

.....looking down the length of the plastic (ignore the *, just place holders since you can't use the space bar to ASCI code). I forget what the plastic strips are called, but they are used to hold the bath board. You can use it and aquarium-safe silicone to secure the strips, cut to length obviously, to divide the tank off. Then all you need is a piece of plexi-glass of appropriate width, and cut to the right size, to fit in the "track" of the plastic piece. If I had more time at the moment I'd go get pics of a 20 gallon long I divided off into thirds.

I might be able to get photos in the morning.

I lied.....

Notice the notch I had to cut into the lip of the tank. It also helped with maintaining support for the plexi-glass.
