Calcium Debate

So I know there is a poll about this topic.

I just bought some of ZooMed's ReptiVite WITHOUT D3 today.

It is calcium based and has all the vitamins for a reptile.
I know that leopard geckos need some D3 to process the calcium because they do not use UVB as they are nocturnal animals but, can I use this as the calcium in the cage?

It was on sale so I bought it. :)

I am getting a Bearded Dragon at the end of the month so should I keep it and use it for him? Am I correct that Bearded Dragons do not need D3 because they require a UVB light and they bask?

It's ok to use however you should supplement with D3 at least 3-4 times a month on non breeding females and adult males. In my opinion, leopard geckos need D3 daily from hatchling to near adult size.

I have used calcium w/D3 for my geckos for nearly 16 years. My vet, who is the President of the ARAV, says that he has NEVER seen a leopard gecko with hypervitaminosis D3 in his entire career, and recommends D3 for all nocturnal geckos.
