We have a couple who's staple diet is mealworms. They are healthy, and both are breeders. The female has given us 6 healthy babies so far this season.

Hey Guys, what about waxworms? Are they good as a staple diet or at least for a couple of weeks at a time? I hear they are very fattening but I don't feed my geckos everyday. I usually feed them about 4 times a week.

i think that if you're going to feed it waxworms as part of a diet, you should feed them mealworms too... waxworms are really supposed to be treats, and i think that even feeding it only four times a week will make him... obese :main_laugh: i hope this helps... i had to find this out the hard way!

If he prefers mealworms go for it, but if your refering to more then 1 gecko here I would keep providing a variety until your 100% sure all the geckos will take what they need. Sometimes, creatures can be picky.

Your plan sounds alright, I dont see any harm.

But variety allways a plus if you can afford it.
