Can I reuse a hide of a crypto gecko?

Last year I had a gecko that I believe died of crypto. I got him from a pet store and it never ate once. I'm getting another gecko soon and was wondering if you think it's safe to reuse the old hides and cage if I disinfect them good enough. One of the hides is wood. Should I toss that one?

IMO I would trash anything that the gecko came in contact with and start over.
If that is not an option, at the very least I would trash the wooden hide along with any rocks or anything else porous and clean everything everything that is left several times with a mix of vinegar and water. I believe vinegar is one of the only things that will kill crypto. Bleach (from what I have read) will not.

I wouldn't risk it. Given that the end result is death if it doesn't work (if your gecko died of crypto), throwing out a wood hide you can probably buy for a couple bucks isn't work the risk of trying to reuse it.

I agree it makes sense to toss all the furniture. As far as the enclosure goes, there is an article by Marcia McGuiness (Golden gate geckos) on her website about Crypto which includes disinfection techniques, and primarily recommends ammonia (CRYPTOSPORIDIA)

Thanks for advice. Even though all the stuff. Has been sitting for a year, I would rather be safe. It's all gone!

hydrogen peroxide only works for regular cleaning, not crypto (I clean with water, then hydro peroxide, then vinegar).
