Because um... Zoe stole one from my cup. I was feeding me leo that won't eat (she won't eat the slushy either. refuses it, but she'll lick the worm guts from her face, so I squesh em on her nose). I was on the bed, as were the rats, and I had been fighting them both off the tub and the worm cup. But she stole one and wouldn't give it to me. She ate like half of it. I know hamsters can eat em, and I assume rats can. But does anyone know?

Rats, especially wild rats will eat anything. I remember oreo, a female rat I had a year or so ago, probly my favorite pet rat I ever had, so funny and freindly. Anyways, I was letting her run around on the kitchen table(just me home lol) and their was a dish of candy, she went in the dish and grabbed a piece of candy out of the dish and shed was holding the candy in here paws and using her teeth to unwrap the wrapper lol. When I went to get it away from her, she wouldnt let go, we have a little tug of war lol,she didnt want to give up her piece of candy.

I'm sure it's fine. My hamsters get them as treats every once and a while. It's actually really cute and gross at the same time watching them eat the worms!

OT but gerbils should accually be fed mealies. there good for them. but any way i used to feed my rats crickets and mealworms like once a month or every other month just for stimulation. kinda like puting crickets in a plastic bag and giving them to the cats. hahahaha

Arn't rats great!? I used to have a bunch of pet rats. I had one that used to love going everywhere with me. I would carry her around in my hoodie, or sleave. It was funny to see peoples reactions when they would see her pop out to say hello! Priceless! I would carry some treats for her and some bottled water and she would stay with me most of the day. I never feed them mealworms But I doubt it would harm them.

Rats will eat most anything but that doesent mean they should be or that its good for them. I remember my cousins had a rat, they named him rata lol. Anyways they would feed him anything and everything, he would lick chocolate off their fingers. I warned them even though its okay for a treat, not all the time. They didnt listen, well rata got a tumor and when they took him to the vet, the vet said the diet was to blame for the tumor.

Rats would be perfectly fine with mealworms. I am sure you could feed them quite often, actually. Most love them and will simply throw them away if they dont. Mealworms will not do any physical harm to rats, and some say they are good for them. Obviously they cant be a staple, because they need grains and veggies, but it isnt a problem at all.

Considering people can eat mealies, I doubt rats will have a problem. Not to mention, I can think of a few types of rodents that will happily munch on them.
