FIND THE PITBULL

Only one of the pictures below features the real American PitBull Terrier. Take the test to see if you can find it. Note there are no mixes or rescue dogs of unknown background who's breed could be debated. All dogs have been picked from breeders' websites and should be good representatives of their breed.

Post the # to your answer below, I will PM you to let you know if you are right or wrong.

If you have seen this before, please DON NOT ANSWER!

Quite often dogs that attack are identified as pit bulls when they are not. There are 20+ breeds that are commonly incorrectly identified as pit bulls.

ok... not sure which one is the pitbull...

but i want to guess on a few of the less well known others!

ok i think 7 is a dogo de argentina, and that particular dog looks amazing! i think 19 is a catahoula leopard dog, and 25 is a titan terrier (maybe). but honestly almost any one of those dogs *could* be a pitbull. also, it depends on how you defnie a pitbull.

is an american stafordshire terrier a pitbull? or is just american pitbull terriers that are pitbulls?

Okay, I'm not very good at stuff like this but I'm curious and would like to know, so I'm voting #3?

The problem with APBTs is that there are SOOOOO many different breed "varieties" out there (compared to other recognized dog breeds). A lot of APBTs in OK look NOTHING like each other.

That being said... I'm torn between #13 and #16... since everyone else is saying #16, I'll say #13 just for the heck of it. :)

16 could be, problem being that there is nothing in the pics to give a size reference to. #2 is certainly a Dogge de Bourdeux, 3 looks like a Pit or an AmStaff, 4 a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, 5 appears to be a Viszla, hard to tell for sure from that angle 6 Ridegeback, 7 is an Argentine Dogo, 8 reminds me of a thick, English chocolate lab head, 9 is Bullmastiff, 10 almost remind me of Italian Greyhounds??, 11 is Old English Mastiff, 12 is Rottie, 13 could be Pit, could be AmStaff, 14 is Boxer-maybe American Bulldogg w/ funny head, 15 looks Cane Corso, 16 resembles a APBT, but if it is, indeed smaller, then that makes it an American Staffordshire Bull Terrier, no idea if 17 is a purebred, 18 , 19 appears to be a Catahoula Leopard Dog, 20 is a Bull Terrier, 21 almost reminds me of an Anatolian Shepherd, although hard to tell from the angle of the head , 22 Pit Bull or Amstaff? , 23 looks like a Tosa Inu pup , 24 I'm going to say American Bulldogg , 25 looks like a Mexican Hairless to me

There's MHO. lol

Geesh, can you tell I'm tired?! Apparantly, I've forgotten how to type! :p

I saw a news report of a SUPPPOSED Pit Bull attack, and the dog was actually a Rottie, how can anyone mistake a Rottie for a Pit is beyond me, but it definitely does happen!

looking at the pics again I think I may have 6 wrong...It looked like a dark brindle dog originally...but now I see its just shadowing...so I revise that to rhodesian ridgeback...I think....

heh....I cheated and found the original website with the answers....I had 8 wrong! lol They have some very very very very uncommon breeds on there....and the tiny photos trick the eye for a couple.

Can you pick which photos are of these breeds?:
alano espanol (a breed I'd never heard of)
boerboel (a breed I've heard of once or twice...)
ca de bou (I think I've heard of it?...perhaps not...lol)
patterdale terrier (breed I know of, but didn't think of this)
fila brasileiro (breed I know of but totally forgot for this)
black mouth cur (another breed I know of...but the photo makes it look like another breed b/c of the size)

definitely #16. So many people are confused as to what a REAL pitbull should look like. They think pits are supposed to be those huge monstorous dogs with the huge block heads and think 'the bigger the better' so many people have lost sight of what a true pitbull is
