carrot tail question

ok so i am quite new at this but here is my question. my gecko (who is an assumed snow from a big chain pet store) has a tiny bit of orange developing on his tail. it's not very much by any means but it is increasing and there is a line of it developing past the first dark band on his tail. is there a way to tell if he will develop a CT? do snows (if that's what he is) get CT's? I would try to get a picture but my camera isn't that great that I don't think you'd even be able to see the orange. here is a pic of him as a hatchling for morph ID-ing as well as a comparison photo i wanted to do to show his changes. Maybe after next shed there will be enough orange to take a picture of. Also, he is about 2 months old now.

My guess would be normal as well. In order to be classified a carrot tail there has to be 15% orange covering the tail from the base. He sure is a cutie though!

see, i thought normal as well but when i posted his hatchling pics, several people told me possible snow since he had very little yellow, but now he is much more yellow. i dunno haha. im fine with normal. as for the carrot tail thing, i have read about them and i do know that it takes 15%. so i guess my question is: could the small amount of orange that he has increase by that much as he sheds? i do see more and more coming in each time he sheds. i am somewhat new to leos, so i'm still learning this stuff. :)

lol well thats bc in the pic i posted up there, at that time he only had two tiny little specs of it almost on the sides of the base of his tail, so you cant see it in my somewhat blurry pic. today he has more with a thin line of it developing further down. once he sheds again, if there is more, i will try to get a decent pic. maybe my question is hopeless lol. i guess maybe if someone could tell me if normals/snows (whatever the heck he is) even CAN develop a carrot tail, bc if they cant, there is my answer. then i'll just see what happens as he develops. thanks for the responses anyway.

From my experience, CTs usually have more orange than what is showing on your guy by that age. You never know though! It's amazing how much these little guys can change.

ok thanks guys, thats basically what i was lookin for. guess the best i can do is wait and see. anyways i finally got some pics where you can see the orange, seems to help to be near natural light. you're probably right, prob wont get to 15% but i think he will look awesome with some orange in there.

I also hate to say it but he totally looks like a lighter normal to me. The best way to tell is to get a for sure mack snow and breed them if you get super snows he's a snow if not he's normal, you will get normals and macks from the pair but you need to snows to get supers need two alleles. hope this helps ya sorry for the bad news though he's really pretty.

oh haha none of that is bad news!! i really dont mind if he is snow or normal.... i was just going by what people had told me based on a post i made specifically asking his morph. i still think he is lovely, no matter what he is :). as for the orange looking yellow...colors never look how they should when pictures are taken, i assure you it is orange. if something changes and more orange appears i will post pics. other than that, thanks for the responses.

A couple of my favorite leos that I have are normals. I have two males and a female that are normal. The female is the most gentle of all my leos, and the oldest male has these really big eyes and seems to be always looking up at me.
