Please help, I've read up on what to do for my eggs and seem to be getting nowhere ... I don't have a hovabator, but am using a brooder top as my incubator.... Eggs are caving in again, it's nice n humid and moist in there... What should I do ????

Here are some things to think about:
What species are you breeding?
Are the females first-timers?
Are you sure the eggs were fertile when they were laid?
Are your temperatures holding steady within a degree or two?
What are you keeping the eggs in when incubating?

Sometimes the eggs are just no good to begin with. This actually happens to me frequently at the beginning of my leo season (but not this season for some reason).

I've got the eggs in deli cups and small Tupperware containers within my homemade incubator , the Mac snow is a first timer , but not the tremper

My Mac snow just laid an egg earlier and i watched her lay it and retrieved it right away & was very soft , is that normal ?

Interesting. What substrate is in the enclosure and what substrate is in the box and deli cups?

Newly laid eggs are usually pretty soft like marshmallows but they harden up after awhile. Eggs that are soft like water balloons are usually not fertile. Some leopard geckos lay outside the box because the eggs aren't fertile. Some do because they just don't get it. When I have a gecko that's about ready to lay, I just keep putting her in the lay box.

I really can't say why the eggs aren't continuing to develop. Maybe hearing about your substrate will bring something up.

I'm using vermiculite in both the enclosure and lay box ... Mixing water with the substrate till it packs like a snowball but not dripping water

I'm thinkin the Mac snow egg isn't fertile as it isn't showing the veins like the other one is.... I did get the egg to pop back out using a small amount of a water drop directly on the egg

I have a 20 gallon tank with a Tupperware container inside using vermiculite and the brooder top on top at 87° ... The brooder top makes the aquarium air right holding at a steady temperature

So the eggs are in deli cups which are in the vermiculite filled tupperware which is inside the 20 gallon tank, right? What's in the deli cups with the eggs, or are they there inside the empty deli cup?
