Hi together!
I would like to know how young enigmas change with age.
Does anyone have some pics of juveniles at the time of purchase, and now after breeding?
Kelly, maybe you can help me?
Thanks, Rebecca

before, during and after shots

Both of mine turned yellow once they were placed with males. Here is one of them and how she changed. The first few photos is of her before breeding, the one in the egg box is during and the one in my hand is after her last clutch back at her pre-breeding weight. The other adult female is goinbg throug a similiar transformation now. I hope this helped. Mike Panichi

It looks like ALL of her pigment cells started working when she was bred. Look at her tail spots before and after, and her "banded" area spots before and after. I wonder if it is from age (like the older they get the less hypo they are) or if it is from breeding?

That is a ridiculous color change. Wow! Does anyone else have such pictures of their enigma(s)? If so please post. It'd be interesting to see if all enigmas go through such pigment changes.

yeah they do

both of my females did not change until the introduction to males. I can almost narrow it down to the exact date. Hey Debbie, did you ever breed cornsnakes? I used to breed them and I thought I recognized your name. Anyway, when this other female is finished breeding, I'll post before and after photos like the above Gecko. Thanks. Mike

Hey Mike,

No, I never bred cornsnakes or even OWNED one. :( I think snakes are awesome, though - if only they didn't eat cute fuzzy mice.......;)

I'm curious to see your other female enigma.....this stuff is crazy and AWESOME!! Thanks for sharing. :)

My Enigma didn’t do a color change but went from this before I started breeding her,

man that stinks about the spots and color. If I purchased an enigma I would have went for the whitest one with the least spots. Man would I have been upset once I paired her. LoL

the other female I have looked very much like the one Albey just posted and now that she has been with the male, she is getting spottier as well. While she isnt turning yellow like the other one, she has started to gain more background color in general. But in general I kind of think the Enigmas change color pretty drastically. The babies I have popped out are constantly taking on a different look everytime I see them. Thanks
