Well I went to petland too see the price of a stand for a 15gallon tank and the lady told me $51.99! when the tank itself it just $24.99.. So I'm looking for CHEAP alternatives. I have a shelf but I kind of converted it to my vanity/cosmitic station so I can't you that. Anyone have any ideas. I was thinking of those small fold out tables that people use for TV dinners and such but I dunno if its sturdy enough

They are a GOD SENT when you want to display smaller tanks. And they are very sturdy. AND require no tools to assemble!

You could also try yard sales and second-hand stores (like Goodwill or Salvation Army)- a small end table or bedside stand works really well. You can spray paint it to match your decor too. My daughter has a bedside stand that has 3 drawers in it (like a teeny dresser) and she has her small fish tank on it and puts supplies in the drawers. Or another idea is to use a small, sturdy file cabinet (those can be painted too if you find an old one).

The problem with those t.v. trays you are talking about is that they are generally a little too wobbly to be trusted with your critter(s) on them.

use the 8x8 uth.(heats 1/3rd of floor) that would be perfect. also check walmart like TKBROUSE said you can find a lot of inexpensive tables that work better than a tv tray stand too wobbly and not very safe.

Walmart has metal fish tank stands for like $30 but that would only had 1,maybe 2 tanks.. I would reccomend getting a nice plastic shelf for the same as the stand. Walmart has these nice plastic black and decker shelfs that are very strong and big. I have 2, one 5 shelf one that costed me like $35, I use it as my leo rack. I also recently bought another one, only this one is a 4 shelf and it was $30. Each shelf would hold a 20 gallon long.
