no i wouldnt use it, I myself had ran a test on it...it simply says add water and make a setup...Like dens and level even stairs! Super cool...but now think of your gecko or lizard licking it...then inside there system it "gets just a tad bit wet" inside there system...And turns in to a block....Not good my vote is no. Sorry! but it is super fun to just play with...lol

not really, i mean you can yes. but at the life and heath of your reptile..really i have heard of reptiles being on sand or just have a "Natural" cage. and they lived a long happy life.. However its the few that dont and some get sick or even death just from there "tank set up" so i wouldnt. but its up too you.

Try some slate tiles or even slabs for a more natural look. They try adding rocky crevices and caves by making them with Styrofoam and grout. There are some good how-to topics here in the Housing forum, or take a look at lizard-landscapes.com for ideas.

If you really want to make a natural type set up, you can use dried out organic top soil... Loose substrates are not dangerous if used properly...

I use tile. Gives it a "natural" look and is perfectly safe for them :)

Maybe you could make little hide out of it. But sanitizing would be nigh impossible in my opinion.

I use this substrate with absaloutly no problems as of yet. I have used it for about a year and they are all fine so far. I love the look of it and its really cool, if a bit messy :D.
But when its dried it truley does go rock hard and then i get a vacuum on it and get rid of all the loose bits on the top and voila! A perfectly natural, low risk setup. If you think about it this is very close to the baked clay they have in the wild. And the wild can be wrong, right?

Also as an extra precausion i don't feed them on it. I feed them on paper towel or printer paper in RUB.

I say go for it
