Coco fiber expanded with sea salt

I have a lot of extra coco fiber. It was expanded with sea salt for my hermit crabs, though, so I don't know if it's OK. I want to give a tupperware of it so that they get to dig,will it be okay if I wash it to get the salt out? Thanks.

I'd just get fresh fiber. The high salinity is likely to cause problems, even if you wash it.

Well look at it this way, either it will hurt it or it won't. A new block cost about 3 bucks. Is peace of mind worth 3 bucks to you?

I wouldn't use it for the leo. I'd save it for the crab for later and just buy a new brick too.

I never re-use anything for my reptiles...especially coming from a different cage and animal. Just get a new block and sleep easy at night.
