I got bitten again! Long story short, I was checking out on Marly because he shed last night; then I saw Bubu at the front of his tank waiting to be picked up, so I did. When he got on my hand, he started sniffing, and I knew he sensed Marly, so I tried to put him back. But I was too late! He locked on to my little finger already. He didn't let go, and the water spray trick didn't work; only made him bit harder. Luckily, I have a pair of pointy tip chopsticks nearby (for picking up silkworms), I inserted one across the gap of his mouth like a horizontal bar to take up some pressure from his bite, and he released me shortly after.
I bled A LOT! And it hurts too.
Washed the wound:
Bubu is the most mellow gecko I have, I never dreamt that he would bite me. He should be very familiar with the scent of other geckos; because I had been dealing with them the same way since they were a few months old (now they're 8). Here is a pic of him taken last week:
p.s. No need to tell me about salmonella, wash hands between handling...etc. I know what I'm doing.
