complete noob looking for reading

Hey folks, I'm looking for a good read (book or web) on genetics and care.

I've never kept a leo and am looking for as much info as I can get. All the

morphs are a bit overwhelming and hard to keep up with at first.


any help would be awesome for the new guy

Look for The Herpetoculture of Leopard Geckos and Genetics for Herpers, those are both great books that will teach you a lot.

I'm pretty sure that The Herpetoculture of Leopard Geckos covers everything The Leopard Gecko Manuel covers and then some. I'd go with the more expansive book.

For genetics i would go with Genetics for Herpers, i do believe that VMS Herps actually has it on sale right now. The Herpetoculture of Leopard Geckos is in general good reading for anyone that is new to Leos in general. It doesn't really cover genetics that well IMO. Some people claim that The Herpetoculture of Leopard Geckos is like the Leopard gecko bible but in all reality it's just a good reading and gives you a better understanding as a whole.

I own both books and love Genetic for Herpers.

Google "leopard gecko care sheet" and read a bunch of them. The information that keeps repeating is probably the right stuff. Ask here about any contradictions that puzzle you.

thanks guys already had Herpetoculture of Leos coming,

and thanks for the big welcome, I've been lurking for sometime now. I breed chondros (when they allow me LOL) Want to get a few leos. They seem awesome!
