Concern After Shed - Help?

Hey guys,

Stitch had a few issues with his shed on Monday. It seems like there is some leftover skin around his mouth area. It also looks to me like there could be some swelling? Maybe it's just me being picky about it. I'm assuming there's nothing severely wrong, like mouth rot, because it's not badly discolored or anything. He is eating fine, acting fine, and it's business as usual for him. Could anyone maybe help let me know if something's wrong? I am trying to post pictures, but it won't let me.

Thanks!

Are you getting an error message when posting the pics? If so what is the message? If it is a left over piece of shed you can usually peel it off very carefully. A pic would really help, but I know you having trouble uploading.

I think the pic is too big. I don't know how to make it smaller.

Hopefully it's not the start of mouth rot. From reading about it, mouth rot seems a lot worse than this.

Not to say it is mouth rot, but it usually starts as a minor issue but if not treated early can become severe. Most of the images you will find on the internet are cases where the animal should have been treated by a vet in the early stages but for whatever reason was not.

I knew a healthy snake that had a bad shed and her owner didnt do anything about it, and they skin left around her mouth caused mouth rot so its better to be overly cautious than under-cautious.
